let’s get (a little) personal…
My name is Tariro– it means “Hope” in Shona. Shona is a language spoken in Zimbabwe, a country that neighbors South Africa. I am a writer. I am a researcher. I am a Black Queer Jew. I am a sister, a cousin, a friend, a partner, and critically hopeful.
I am currently enrolled in an Educational Psychology PhD program. My research interests lie in social cognition and critical consciousness in terms of racial identity development in the digital age. I am interested in how a person’s social identities and experiences across their lifespan motivate their social perceptions and behaviors in alternate settings
This blog is a testament of my communities, my chosen family, and all my comrades in the trenches who have held my hand and walked side by side with me.
This space is deeply personal. Liberation starts with the self.
